Order Summary Redesign
UX Design

The order summary refresh proposal was redesigned as a means to maintain the Tessuti higher end styling whilst effectively creating a clear and concise conversion journey for the consumer. Creating a series of tests to keep progressional data relevant helped formulate the process to ensure customer needs were met.

Hypothesis: to utilise the limited templates for the checkout process to effectively simplify the conversion journey, including;

  • Promoted use of the quickbuy functionality

  • Make the checkout process more simple and intuitive

  • Integrate additional code and delivery options, easier functionality for editing order, showcasing tailored related products to that in basket

  • Include a price breakdown, including discounts and potential offers and delivery

  • Make payment methods more prominent

A/B testing ideas included;

  • Redesign of basket pop out from header to breakdown code and delivery prices and an additional cta for viewing bag

  • Change of product removal icon

  • Making the discount code box more prominent

  • Including preferred or standard UK delivery price to the total

  • Ensuring consistency with language on pop up to next step checkout, for example, 'discount' and 'promotional' code and 'bag' and 'basket'

  • Redesign of the overall checkout page to showcase all relevant information in a user friendly base

With JD Sports as the parent company, we were heavily restricted with any changes to the basket and checkout designs and processes, as these required to be implemented in our specific template. With this in mind, the entire process was thought out so upon requesting sign off, there would already be test driven data (where applicable) to back up the proposal, as well as suggestions of creating a prototype to get more accurate feedback. The main differences between desktop and mobile versions are that the mobile device is created to be more step-by-step by scroll friendly, whilst reinforcing the important information to the user, whereas the desktop version was to look at the natural flow of the checkout to coincide with the users eyeline, highlighting necessary requirements and breaking down information.
